Whatever social challenges you’re passionate about helping to solve – homelessness, mental health, hunger, equal opportunities, suicide, incarceration, unemployment, access to education, girls and minorities in tech – you’ll find it all in the world of foster care.

For many of these kids, a cybersecurity career could be a way out. If only they knew where to start.

We want to create the very first online cybersecurity academy for the nation’s 500,000 foster kids and youth, a safe and familiar place for them to learn, a unique opportunity for them to claim a chance at a fulfilling cybersecurity career, and an opportunity for the security community to show these kids they’re wanted.

WE NEED YOUR HELP. NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL (BUT IT IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE), AND A CORPORATE DONATION OF JUST $500 WILL EARN YOU PRIDE OF PLACE AS AN OFFICIAL FOSTER CHAMPION.c img3

Our goal is to launch the academy in January 2020, and with the help of great education partners like Cybrary. Our training will be tailored for the often-unique learning and social challenges of many foster kids. The training will go from basic to advanced, for kids aged 14 and up, all the way to young foster adults keen to acquire professional security skills, a recognized certification, and that first entry-level job or internship.

Our students will also learn about the relationship between security, privacy, and ethics, and will also be taught how to teach security basics to their local community as a way to improve their confidence, leadership, and communications skills.

Want to do even more? Think about becoming a verified Foster Champion.

Your support will not only help change lives, it might even help save some. So please consider giving anything you can.
